Looking Back Into My Future

Today is my birthday and the first thought that crossed my mind was to give my Good Good Father my appreciation for the life He has given me.

Looking Back Into My Future

Good morning Father

This is the day that you have made

I will rejoice and be glad in it

This is the day July 19 you planned

For my entrance into the earth

At 2:18 am you hit the start button

For me to begin on the journey

Of my purpose and destiny

Sometimes it hasn’t been easy

But you’ve been here for me

To get me back to your path for me

You knew there would be stubborn times

That I would be disobedient

And do my own thing

You’d let me with a watchful eye

You were there to pick me up

Dust me off and love on me

When my stubborn actions

Got me in trouble

To let me know you’ve still got me covered

You’ve been and still are a Good, Good Father

You are true to your word

You never leave me nor forsake me

You take such good care of me

You said I am bound to be blessed

You heap blessings upon me daily

You shower me with gifts and surprises

That turns me into Daddy’s giggly, giddy little girl

I thank and praise you for letting me

End one year and start another with great

Expectations of what you want me to do for you

I do and always will love you

Need you and trust you with

Every beat of my heart

I honor and love you for being my Good Father

Is It Possible

Is it possible to love without limits

Is it possible to forgive no matter who’s at fault

Can love be allowed to flood your very being

While joy is your strength as love overflows

Let down all defense and open your heart

Let unconditional love do its part

Don’t lose sight of me

I’m here right where I’ll always be

So you can reach out and touch me,

Caress and hold me

Let the comfort flow that we each enjoy

Love me like you mean it

Don’t treat me like your toy.

Something you can pull out today

And when you’re tired of me you put me away

If that’s what you want to do

I’ll turn and walk away from you.

What’s Going On

Today I went to the Post Office to purchase postage stamps. As always I was asked which stamps I wanted. I looked at the samples and was surprised to see one of my favorite entertainers from times past-Marvin Gaye.

I remember not too long before his life was taken I won tickets to see him in concert through a radio station give away. My seats were wonderful. There were seats in front of me blocking my view. I could actually see what was going on. He gave an awesome performance that evening. It was a real treat for me.

ARE YOU READY

Are you Ready? Ready for what, you say. Marriage when Father God releases your husband to find you or your wife to be found. When the time comes will you be ready? You might be saying what do you mean be ready?

Have you considered what you are about to commit to when the marriage proposal is at hand? Do you realize your life won’t be solely about you. When you make plans there is another person to consider. Your decisions are plural, not singular any more. These are just a few things to think about.

Marriage is a covenant. It is a serious commitment. It is more than planning the most elaborate  wedding of the century and going on the honeymoon of a lifetime. Spending your last dime on a house bigger than you can afford does not make for a great marriage. After all of that then you may be saddled with a lot of debt unless you’ve been saving for years. If you’re not careful that debt load can become a problem in your new marriage. There have been many divorces over money problems.

Entering into a covenant is when you are so connected to a person that death will be the only parting factor between the two of you. You are willing to take the back seat and relinquish what you want for what the other person desires. It’s just like when Jesus died for us to redeem us back to God. Marriage covenant should be just like the covenant God has with His people. He is with them through the good and the bad.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8, 13 (NIV)

Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not boast. It is not proud. It does not dishonors others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs, Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophesies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

In Ephesians 5:33 (ESV), Paul writes, “let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”

Are you willing and ready to love someone with the everlasting love of 1 Corinthians 13? Can you see yourself committing to someone until death parts you? Now is the time to seek the Lord and be ready with an answer.

The Feast Of Trumpets

The first of the Fall Feasts of the Lord 2017 started at sundown September 20 through September 21. It’s called Feast Of Trumpets. It is called Yom T’rooah in Hebrew. It is also known as Rosh Hashanah, Head of the Year, and is celebrated as the Jewish New Year.

The blowing of the Shofar announces God’s Manifest Presence.

Exodus 19:13; Leviticus 23; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

In the picture above of the apple and honey represent God’s provision and sweetness that He will manifest to us in the coming year.

Blessings as you celebrate and feast with the Lord!

#atozchallenge – Zero

ZERO

Thirty days of April is when we accept the challenge

To write our very best though some days it’s hard

Many have a plan and others take each day as it comes

No matter the struggle we’re having fun

Every day the challenge is staring you in your face

You may get behind but don’t give up on the race

Wondering how can I get through this

So many things on my plate

Some how there is grace

Although they might be posted late

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the race

To complete your commitment

The A to Z challenge

Twenty-six out of a thirty-day pace

The next day is Zero

Though it is number one

Congrats to all the A to Z Challengers#

#atozchallenge – The Way You Do The Things You Do

The Way You Do The Things You Do – The Temptations

You got a smile so bright

You know you could have been a candle
I’m holding you so tight
You know you could have been a handle
The way you swept me off my feet
You know you could’ve been a broom
The way you smell so sweet
You know you could’ve been some perfume

Well you could’ve been anything that you wanted to
And I can tell
The way you do the things you do, ah baby (the way you do the thing you do, the way you do the things you do)

As pretty as you are
You know you could’ve been a flower
If good looks were minutes
You know that you could be an hour
The way you stole my heart
You know you could have been a crook
And baby your so smart
You know you could have been a school book

Well you could’ve been anything that you wanted to
And I can tell
The way you do the things you do, ah baby (the way you do the thing you do, the way you do the things you do)

You make my life so rich
You know you could’ve been some money
And baby you’re so sweet
You know you could have been some honey

Well you could’ve been anything that you wanted to
And I can tell
The way you do the things you do, ah baby (the way you do the thing you do, the way you do the things you do)

You really swept me off my feet (the way you do the things you do)
You made my life complete (the way you do the things you do)
You made my life so bright (the way you do the things you do)
You made me feel alright (the way you do the things you do)
You make me feel alright (the way you do the things you do)

This guy must really like the girl he’s singing to because he’s running it down to her.
