A-Z Blog Challenge ARUBA My New Paradise

St. Thomas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, are several vacations I believed were paradise. That was my thought until I landed in Aruba. I fell in love with Aruba the moment I exited the plane.

I love trees and have never seen so many trees that had their own original shapes, sizes, curves and angles. They were everywhere.

I stayed at two hotels. The first one is was a Boutique Hotel called Boardwalk. It was a peaceful place that I imagined it being like the Garden of Eden -lush, green with beautiful flowers everywhere. The buildings were situated more like apartments than a regular hotel and just as beautiful on the inside.

The second hotel complex called Amsterdam Manor beach resort was a bit under construction which was mainly the landscape. The inside was more of a one bedroom apartment than a hotel room. The best part of this hotel was the beach that was a short walk-across the street.

Aruba has interesting sites to see. There are many excursions to choose from. Having dinner on the beach was a new experience I totally enjoyed. Of course the food was delicious-breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You can’t go wrong with either hotel. The second one wasn’t as quiet as the first. The first would be good for a getaway when you need a time of reflection and a quiet undisturbed place to plan out your future. If nothing else you can just do a whole lot of nothing.

I haven’t traveled since Aruba but it has definitely become my number one island to travel to. If you are looking for a nice, tranquil place for a reset I recommend Aruba.

My Perceptions

A definition of perception is the ability to see, hear,
or become aware of something through the senses.

Pain
Pain can be physical or emotional. Physical pain can be in a particular part of your body or all over. Emotional pain can make you think your heart is broken and you can’t go on. It some times hurt worse than physical pain.
Any pain you have can be eradicated by The Healer.

Bowling
Bowling is a spiritual game. The pins are like problems that won’t go away. They keep standing when they should have fallen. In order to bring them down don’t rush them, but with a pause, listen for a strategy and move forward. You win.

Writing
In writing you get freedom. You can use your wildest imagination that can be entertaining to the reader. You can tell your story that can set a person free. If you have a mandate to write stop putting it off and get to it. Satisfaction of completion can be a wonderful thing.

Listening
Listening is a hard thing to do. You can start listening to someone but can go off the beaten path into your own world by just one word that was spoken. Everyone who wants you to listen don’t always want a response. They only want a listener. Do them and yourself a favor-listen.

Birds
Birds are interesting to watch. Their ways resemble people. One minute they are working together and the next they are fighting. Fluttering and flapping their wing and squawking remind me of many people I’ve come in contact with over the years. They fly away never to be seen again. With people that may not happen.

I Want To Be More Than Just Me

I Want To Be More Than Just Me

I want to be a writer. I believe I would be a good one. Distractions come my way.  Ideas that are deposited in me are snuffed out. My memory fails  so I don’t remember the snippets that would make for a great story. My recorder is forgotten and the creative flow is dammed up. No matter what tries to stop me I will put words on paper until I accomplish what I set out to do.

I want to be an artist. My paintings are beautiful. Many have said so. Full of color and life that draws you in to become a part of the community. Then appears an old nemesis fear slithering in with the same old plan to steal, kill and destroy. For some strange reason I succumb to those old outdated tricks. All my creativity comes to a halt. I’m shut down and can’t deliver. I’m telling that voice to shut up and I’m arming myself with my paint brush, paint and canvas and going to war.

I want to be a musician. Music was built in me before I was born. It’s always playing in my ear. Sometimes songs I’ve heard. Other times songs that are being birthed. There are also personal songs that are between me and my Lord. When music starts dancing fills in my feet. Melodies circle me. How do I capture them and express them? I lift my voice and sing. I’ll dance with the broom while sweeping my floors. I’ll be the best pianist that ever tickled the ivory keys.

My goal is to conquer the fleeting moments of creativity and let the masterpieces flow from my being. I will express the ideas that come forth from the Throne room at the time they are to be released. I believe I can and I will.

I want to be more than just me. This is me!

Is there anything that is preventing the creativity in you from coming forth?

#atozchallenge – Zero

ZERO

Thirty days of April is when we accept the challenge

To write our very best though some days it’s hard

Many have a plan and others take each day as it comes

No matter the struggle we’re having fun

Every day the challenge is staring you in your face

You may get behind but don’t give up on the race

Wondering how can I get through this

So many things on my plate

Some how there is grace

Although they might be posted late

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the race

To complete your commitment

The A to Z challenge

Twenty-six out of a thirty-day pace

The next day is Zero

Though it is number one

Congrats to all the A to Z Challengers#

#atozchallenge – X Marks the Spot

X is the mark that decorates test or homework papers. X usually means there are wrong answers or assignments are not correct.

Red is the color of the dreaded X. The paper grader makes sure you see your mistakes with the bright red staring at you making it known.

No one wants big fat red X’s on their papers. Well, they need to study harder and pick the right answer.

NO MORE X’s, NO RED X’s!
