My Perceptions

A definition of perception is the ability to see, hear,
or become aware of something through the senses.

Pain
Pain can be physical or emotional. Physical pain can be in a particular part of your body or all over. Emotional pain can make you think your heart is broken and you can’t go on. It some times hurt worse than physical pain.
Any pain you have can be eradicated by The Healer.

Bowling
Bowling is a spiritual game. The pins are like problems that won’t go away. They keep standing when they should have fallen. In order to bring them down don’t rush them, but with a pause, listen for a strategy and move forward. You win.

Writing
In writing you get freedom. You can use your wildest imagination that can be entertaining to the reader. You can tell your story that can set a person free. If you have a mandate to write stop putting it off and get to it. Satisfaction of completion can be a wonderful thing.

Listening
Listening is a hard thing to do. You can start listening to someone but can go off the beaten path into your own world by just one word that was spoken. Everyone who wants you to listen don’t always want a response. They only want a listener. Do them and yourself a favor-listen.

Birds
Birds are interesting to watch. Their ways resemble people. One minute they are working together and the next they are fighting. Fluttering and flapping their wing and squawking remind me of many people I’ve come in contact with over the years. They fly away never to be seen again. With people that may not happen.

A Quiet Day

Today has been a quiet day. I read my devotions and scripture references that followed. I reflected on the goodness of God and how He is in complete control no matter how much the news is trying to convince us otherwise. God’s peace is covering me and I’m thankful for that.

I haven’t turned the television or music on. My thoughts are the loudest noise I hear while I anticipate hearing from God concerning the direction I’m to go.

The last week I’ve had work done in my home. A lot of things that have been taken down and moved need to be replaced. One thing I can say for sure that most things will not end up in the same place. Just maybe that is a good thing. I will have a place that will look new even though it’s only been rearranged. Some things will not reappear. Some pieces will be given away and some will be thrown away. It’s a new day.

That is how I’m thinking about the way I want my life to be when we become free birds again. I’m not interest in adding every single thing I use to do back into my life. I enjoy the quiet days – days I either do something or do nothing. I work on projects I didn’t have time to do before with the hustle and bustle of going here, there, and everywhere with no end in sight. I will choose the most important activities I like and put the others on the shelf of my thoughts to revisit at a later date. My life will not be the same as before.

Today I will fill my Hummingbird feeders out so they can come back and visit regularly. Maybe I’ll soak in the tub while enjoying Smooth Jazz and a sip of something.

This will continue to be a quiet day for me. How about you?

Trust Me

Today I read the below devotional from Jesus Calling and it seemed appropriate for what has been going on all over the world.

I’m sharing it because there are a lot of people who are afraid. Their worlds have been turned upside down and they don’t know what to do because fear has overtaken them. Their lives as they know it may never be the same-what are they going to do.

Remember nothing happens that God doesn’t know about and what He sees going on He has an answer. Don’t let your heart fail you. Take courage that everything will work out in God.

We are Passing Over out of the old and into the new.

TRUST ME IN EVERY DETAIL OF YOUR LIFE.

Nothing is random in My kingdom. Everything that happens fits into a pattern for good, to those who love Me. Instead of trying to analyze the intricacies of the pattern, focus your energy on trusting Me and thanking Me at all times. Nothing is wasted when you walk close to Me. Even your mistakes and sins can be recycled into something good, through My transforming grace.

While you were still living in darkness, I began to shine the Light of My Presence into your sin-stained life. Finally, I lifted you up out of the mire into My marvelous Light. Having sacrificed My very Life for you, I can be trusted in every facet of your life.

Shabbat Shalom!

No Reason – For A Reason

When I lay my head down on the pillow in bed a new adventure starts.

Why does it seem like I live two lives-one when I’m awake and one in my dreams . I turn into a person that’s more fun and exciting, more daring and free. The fearless one ready to take on the world. A crusader minus the cape. No Reason!

Why can I take on the world and solve its pressing problems by night? But I can’t solve a simple puzzle by light.

No Reason! No Reason! No Reason!

Why is my future bright in the night but dim in the light? I don’t have to fuss, cuss or fight in the night. Everything is laid out just right.

Maybe it’s a reprieve from the light when everything seems to be going wrong – not in the dark but in the light. For No Reason!

I’ll just continue to live my lives – one by day and one by night. Striving to be all I can be. Whether asleep or awake in the day or the night.

Let me come together and Be!

For A Reason!

One Connected Heart

The moment I laid eyes on you

I knew you were my forever love

My heart skipped gleefully

To rest upon your heart

That was the beginning

A fresh exciting start

Of love intertwining

Two young hearts.

Years have come and gone

My heart still beats for you

The bond is stronger now

Than when I first laid eyes on you.

No one on earth

Can tear us apart

Because what we share

Is one connected heart.

Time To Reflect

C. S. Lewis 1942

Satan: “I will cause anxiety, fear and panic. I will shutdown business, schools, places of worship and sports events. I will cause economic turmoil.”

Jesus: ” I will bring together neighbors, restore the family unit, I will bring dinner back to the kitchen table. I will help people slow down their lives and appreciate what really matters. I will teach my children to rely on me and not the world. I will teach my children to trust me and not their money and material resources,”

I saw the above piece on my FaceBook Page. Not knowing much about what C. S. Lewis writings I shared it. A friend messaged me and told me he didn’t write it. Kudos to the person writing this because they hit the nail on the head-so to speak.

Many people feel anxiety, fear and panic. They are in a situation that they do not have control of. Their daily schedule has been shut down and they don’t know what to do with themselves. Many parents are overwhelmed staying home with their children – they don’t know what to do with them outside their preplanned daily schedule of outside activities.

Jesus brings calmness and a new perspective of the changes to make our lives better across the board. Just maybe the majority of folks won’t want to return to the rat race they were participating in. Reflecting on past lifestyles could open up a new revelation of how this down time is for our betterment.

When we get so rattled we blame God for this terrible mess we’re in just remember these two scriptures. They could bring comfort, peace and rest.

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. (NLT)

Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts. Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (NKJ)

God knew about this before we did because He is all knowing and knows how this will end. His plan for us is good and not evil.

Keep reflecting.
