I was sitting in the customer area at a service station while my car was being inspected. A lady came in who seemed to be having a problem walking. She sat down next to me and after few minutes. I noticed she was struggling to get up from her seat. I asked her if she needed help and she ceased her struggle and admitted she needed help. There were two men in the waiting area also and one of them jumped up and rushed over to help her stand up. She was very appreciative and said when she comes back in she would not sit down but stand up. We explained to her that wasn’t necessary that someone would be there to help her up when she was ready.
She told us that her knees were shot and she could hardly get around. The men chimed in with their ailments and one just had surgery and was going into the hospital to have another one. While she was gone they thanked me for noticing she needed help.
So when my car was ready I asked the guy would he help her stand up and he said yes plus there were many other guys that would also help.
When we are out and about every day I believe we need to always be on the lookout in case someone needs help. I once needed help when I was in another country traveling alone. Several years ago when I went to Italy my back hurt from sitting the long hours on the airplane. I had to climb in and out of a tour bus multiple times daily. The nice men in my group that didn’t know me helped me on and off the bus and I also had help getting my luggage to and from the hotel we stayed at. That was a real blessing to me and that meant I would not miss out on our daily activities because of my back which after a few days got better.
Have you ever needed help and someone was there to assist you?
