In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “32 Flavors.”
Ice cream is my favorite all-time dessert. I’m addicted to it. I can eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Throw it in as a snack also. Ice cream even calls my name. Of course I answer with spoon in hand.
I found that I can’t buy it at the store and expect it to last a while because I’ll answer it’s call every time I hear my name. I finally got a clue that I can only buy it when I feel the need for the satisfaction it creates. I buy a pint, get my spoon and polish off every last bite.
It’s hard to decide which is my favorite. The mood I’m in plays a big part in the flavor of the day. I might like some oldies and another time I might venture out into the deep and try a new one. There are days chocolate has to be in the mix; double chocolate, triple chocolate or chocolate chips. Nuts are a must. Not peanuts though. If I have cake, pie or cookies, plain vanilla will work.
Talking about my favorite food makes me want to run out to the store and pick up a pint-a new flavor. Bye.
Ice cream doesn’t last long at my house, either…and no one else to blame, as I live alone. https://grieflessons.wordpress.com/2014/06/27/lick-for-lick-2/
I bought a small ice cream freezer. This summer I’m going to make my own ice cream. It probably won’t last either. Blessings.
I have a gelato maker I bought from a friend…After a few years, I just had a cabinet built over it…I can still remove it, but it made me less prone to whip up a little midnight snack.
Wow, I didn’t know they had gelato makers. I love gelato also. May have to get one of those. When I make it I’ll invite company over to help eat it.
Problem with inviting company over for gelato is that they eat your gelato!!!!
Emma, for many, many years my hubby was production supervisor at an ice-cream plant….. and I took full advantage of it. LOL!
Wow, I’d be in serious trouble.
Oh!! You are tempting us!! Yes! Chocolate should always be in the mix. Great use of Prompt.
Thanks for the encouraging words.
Me too! Why I can’t I be passionate about kale? ;>)
I know the feeling. If mangos were ripe and readily available
(Let’s try it again) mangos could give ice cream a run for first place in my life.
Have you ever had Thai mango sticky rice? I absolutely love it!
No I haven’t. My first Thai food ever was about three weeks ago. Went out with some friends who introduced us to Thai food. We shared what we ordered so I had a taste of a variety of dishes. I love hot and spicy but one dish was so hot I thought smoke was going to come out of my ears and I was going to whistle like a train. I will visit that restaurant again.
I love Thai food! Not all of it is hot and spicy. One of my favorites is Tom Ka Kai soup which is made with coconut milk. Mmmm… getting hungry.!
I also love hot and spicy but that was so hot it could have blown the top of my head off. I will put the name of the soup in my phone so the next time I go I can try it. Thanks a bunch.
It’s a great soup, though not hot!
Lucky you! For several years now, I have had an allergy to dairy products. They make my throat itch and swell, my eyes water and my nose run. No more traditional ice-cream for me ๐ฆ but I have found really good coconut milk ice cream, so I’m happy about that! ๐
