The Best Laid Out Plans

In the last week all the plans I’ve had for a month or more started to become unraveled. First one, then another and another. One plan became rearranged but today another one bit the dust.

The schedule was really tight but now tomorrow I have only one thing I’m obligated to do. I can breathe now and slow down. I don’t have to get up early, rush around and make preparations to receive guest. I don’t have to plan meals and go to the grocery store. My remaining obligation is not until early evening.

Though there is relief a little saddness (don’t know if that is the right word) is there because I’ve gotten myself all geared up to tackle every plan that was laid out before me. I like a good challenge. I’m sure there will be others coming soon. I’m up for it. I can’t wait.

Have you packed your schedule full and then have everything cancelled. How did that make you feel?

  1. Usually, I feel just as you described! A little sad, but also a bit relieved that the pressure is off. I guess it all depends on whether or not you were planning something that you truly looked forward to. If not, then I think relief would be the primary sentiment.
I like this post. It made me think!
