A-Z Blog Challenge ARUBA My New Paradise

St. Thomas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, are several vacations I believed were paradise. That was my thought until I landed in Aruba. I fell in love with Aruba the moment I exited the plane.

I love trees and have never seen so many trees that had their own original shapes, sizes, curves and angles. They were everywhere.

I stayed at two hotels. The first one is was a Boutique Hotel called Boardwalk. It was a peaceful place that I imagined it being like the Garden of Eden -lush, green with beautiful flowers everywhere. The buildings were situated more like apartments than a regular hotel and just as beautiful on the inside.

The second hotel complex called Amsterdam Manor beach resort was a bit under construction which was mainly the landscape. The inside was more of a one bedroom apartment than a hotel room. The best part of this hotel was the beach that was a short walk-across the street.

Aruba has interesting sites to see. There are many excursions to choose from. Having dinner on the beach was a new experience I totally enjoyed. Of course the food was delicious-breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You can’t go wrong with either hotel. The second one wasn’t as quiet as the first. The first would be good for a getaway when you need a time of reflection and a quiet undisturbed place to plan out your future. If nothing else you can just do a whole lot of nothing.

I haven’t traveled since Aruba but it has definitely become my number one island to travel to. If you are looking for a nice, tranquil place for a reset I recommend Aruba.

What I Would Tell My Teenage Self

I would tell my teenage self to enjoy your life as a teenager. Don’t rush into adulthood because you will be an adult longer than you will be a teenager. Don’t let anyone convince you to do adult things trying to convince you that you would have fun. When you attempt to do adult things you will likely end up with adult responsibilities you are not equipped to handle. Premarital sex, baby out of wedlock, drugs steal your teenage life and innocence. Remember there is no place in your life for those things if you want to go to college and have a career. Be careful and protective of your precious life and don’t play Russian roulette with it because you may win a few spins but losing is in the cards. You end up broke.

I came to this place, an enchanting place, at least to me for me at such a time as this.

Searching for the truth, my truth that my Father has placed in me. The truth that will awaken the sleeping giant He created me to be. A mover and shaker in the Kingdom of God.

Moving in and out of places known and unknown. Shaking awake the sleepers. Sounding the alarm that now is the time to join the ranks of the army of God. Time to know where you will spend eternity.

There’s plenty to do. Come get on board. To be a part of the new day dawning with a heart filled with joy as you look forward, forgetting the past that has held you captive far too long.

Come join, come join dear ones to experience a place you’ve only dreamed of.

My Vacation of the Year-Aruba

This year 2020 with all the things going on negatively personal and around the world I accepted the fact vacation was out of the question. I resolved to stay home because of Covid-19 and surgery.

Then I got an opportunity to take a trip to Aruba. I took it. With COVID-19 I had to jump through hoops and take to two tests but it was well worth it. Both tests were negative which was a good thing.

I will be staying at two places several days each before I return home. The first place is a hidden paradise. When I got up to the entrance I wondered if this was the place. Once the gate opens it’s something you always wished you could go to but never thought you would.

I believe I will just call it paradise because that is exactly what I imagined paradise would be. There were beautiful flowers, bushes and trees everywhere. I got lost today and found several banana trees full of bananas in an area I hadn’t yet explored.

I don’t ever recall a more peaceful place. When I get home I will start saving for my next trip to paradise.

Have you ever found a peaceful paradise. If not keep looking.

A Different Kind of Day

Today I awakened with no plans. I shrugged my shoulders and decided not to try to come up with a plan. I decided to do a lot of nothing in particular.

My nothing in particular started out with me cleaning my aquarium. My three little fishes are so happy.

While cleaning the tank I kept smelling fresh brewed coffee. How could that be because I was the only one in the house. I guess it was just my imagination running away with me. I brewed a couple cups and came up with a thought which someone before me probably came up with it first. I topped my coffee off with whipped cream that floated like a fluffy cloud. Wow it tasted great.

While fixing my coffee and pomegranates another bright idea came to mind-finger painting. Yes! Sounds like a winner. Something I don’t have to give much thought to. I can even close my eyes while swirling the paint across the paper and when finished open them and there lies before me a beautiful surprise (or mess). I choose to believe for a beautiful surprise.

In these times of uncertainty and craziness we need to cast our cares upon the Lord and do something out of the ordinary. Put on some music and do your best to loosen up and welcome freedom. Then create what isn’t in your thoughts. Be free as the birds in the sky without a care. God cares more for you than the carefree flying birds. Trust Him to do all He said He would do for you in His love letter to you-His Word.

If you don’t have a relationship with Him you can ask Him into your heart right now. He’s ready and willing for you to join His family now. There’s plenty room for more. Blessings.
