Only You – The Platters

Only you can make all this world seem right

Only you can make the darkness bright

Only you and you alone

Can thrill me like you do

And fill my heart with love for only you
Only you can make all this change in me

For it’s true, you are my destiny

When you hold my hand

I understand the magic that you do

You’re my dream come true

My one and only you
Only you can make all this change in me

For it’s true, you are my destiny

When you hold my hand

I understand the magic that you do

You’re my dream come true

My one and only you
One and only you

The ‘Only You’ in my life is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Hope you find or know your ‘Only You’.

A to Z Blog Challenge 2015 – Jesus Is

Jesus is the reason for the seasons. I’m not talking about Christmas but every season I’ve been through and will go through in my life.

He’s the rock I can lean on when I need to be steadied. He comforts me when I’m in the midst of turmoil. A dependable friend right here when my earthly friends have scattered in various directions.

Jesus takes my hand and becomes my guiding light on the dark and dreary path of life. He’s my Intercessor that keeps me on his list making sure I get what I need and roadblocks appear to keep me going in the right direction.

I’m glad we met many years ago and there’s no comparison anywhere.

I’ll stick with him on the sure path he has me on.

2015 A to Z Blog Challenge C – Celebration

This weekend we are celebrating Passover and the resurrection of Jesus The Christ. Jesus was our Passover Lamb that was born to redeem us from Adam’s treason when he chose death over life in the garden.

By Jesus’s unconditional love he bled, suffered and died so we could have the same choice as Adam. We can choose eternal life in Christ or eternal life with Satan. If Jesus hadn’t stepped up and died in our place we wouldn’t be able to make that choice. We would have all been doomed to Hell.

What Jesus did is a great reason to have a celebration.

My Jewel

J is for Jewel

You have loved me with an everlasting love. I will bless you with an eternal blessing.

You have denied yourself and honored my request. Your seed’s seed will be blessed.

You bowed your knee and gave me the glory I deserve. You live your life in such a way that everyone knows you belong to me.

I will point you in the right direction and show you the way to go. I will never leave you nor forsake you and will hold you in the palm of my hand.

You Are My Jewel

FLASHBACK OF A TRAGIC SITUATION

Monday was the October meeting of Glory Writers. It is a part of the North Texas Christian Writers Group that meets monthly at the Global Spheres Center.

At the meeting a member of the group read the story she wrote about how her life was terrorized for years by a stalker until his death. Her story took us on a journey with her through the twists and turns as God delivered her from his treacherous grip.

Experiencing the journey gave me a flashback when a tragic event almost took my life. The next day I put on paper what happened to me many years ago. Though it was a long time ago it was a hard thing to do. To get the facts on paper I had to step aside from the emotions that were entangled with the facts. I will go back at a later date and let the emotions flow to complete the story. Maybe then I will release the story that may help bring healing to someone going through something similar.

My prayer is they will see how The Lord can bring you out of a death sentence of the enemy with a mighty hand of victory when you think there is no way out.

Have you been in a life threatening situation? How did deliverance come for you?

Stop Pecking – Look and Listen

Last week I set up a bird feeder in my back yard. Since then I have been waiting for the birds to flock to the feeder and join in the feast set for them. For the last five days I’ve been waiting for them to show up for the feast but none accepted the invitation to be seated at the table and served a delectable meal.                     Bird Banquet
This morning I heard a beautiful melody that drew me to the window. As I gazed out the window my eyes fell upon five little birdies on the ground pecking away searching for food.
I’m in the window acting like a game show host trying to get them to look up. “Look up, look up,” I kept encouraging them as if they could hear me and see the prize that was awaiting them. They’d get close to the pole and then hop away but never look up at the banquet house they were invited to.

I got a revelation. I saw myself looking in all the wrong places or not  at all for what God has for me. He’s encouraging me–go this way, go that way. No, no, no back up. Turn around. Wait 15 minutes. Never hearing, never seeing–just not getting it. Off I stomped. Believing God never answered my prayer.

He did answer and had it waiting for me but I didn’t see it. I didn’t hear it. I didn’t still myself to get directions. I didn’t trust Him. My works will help God get me what I prayed for because of course He can’t supply my need by Himself.

When I walked away from the window the birds were still on the ground pecking away. Silence fell upon the yard and not hearing the chirping I figured they moved on to look elsewhere. There it was again, the same melody that drew me to the window earlier. I ran to the window and to my amazement one bird came to the banquet table and was feasting on the meal prepared for them. He looked up. He won. I’m sure he will go out and gather others and bring them back for the festive celebration and they all will know they don’t have to labor pecking for food any more in this yard–just show up.

We don’t have to work hard in our own strength to obtain the blessings God said He has for us in His Word. We receive them by faith and we will have them in God’s perfect time.

What do you do when you think God hasn’t answered your prayers? Do you try to make it happen in your time and strength?

A Change Has Come

Joy, Fulfillment, Satisfaction.

These words describes how I feel about my back yard, especially my little flower garden area God told me to work on this year.

I haven’t always felt that way. I use to look at it and the negatives were larger than life.

This year I decided to look again differently. I’d stand in the middle of the yard and look at it from all angles. Most times I didn’t get any revelation of what I was to do.

One day the Lord told me to work in the area I bricked off last year. There were a few flowers that were transplanted last year from other areas. Weeds that were trying to claim that piece of property had to be dealt with first.

Flower shopping was the next task. Along with getting flowers soil amending products were needed.

Get the weeds out! They got to go! I’m making progress! This is becoming beautiful! I love it!

I kept saying those things to myself to encourage me to keep going. I fought long and hard to disengage the weeds that didn’t want to let go.

After the weeds were removed the planting began. Some plants were moved several times until I knew they were in the right place. Finally the flower garden was complete. It is beautiful. The plants are growing, growing, growing. A smile comes on my face when I think about the garden.

Working where the Lord told me has now spilled into other areas of the yard. I’m slowly and thoughtfully adding to the yard. There is a lot to do but I’m up for the challenge. My expectation is a beautiful, peaceful garden where I can sit and meditate on Gods goodness.

Looking back at the beginning of this journey I realize I had no plan that could withstand being overwhelmed by what I saw. Listening to the Lord and following His instructions step by step got me through the discouragement of what I was seeing. I now see through His eyes. If He can fix the earth that was void without form, He can work wonders in my little yard.

What are you looking at through your eyes instead of His eyes?
