A Different Kind of Day

Today I awakened with no plans. I shrugged my shoulders and decided not to try to come up with a plan. I decided to do a lot of nothing in particular.

My nothing in particular started out with me cleaning my aquarium. My three little fishes are so happy.

While cleaning the tank I kept smelling fresh brewed coffee. How could that be because I was the only one in the house. I guess it was just my imagination running away with me. I brewed a couple cups and came up with a thought which someone before me probably came up with it first. I topped my coffee off with whipped cream that floated like a fluffy cloud. Wow it tasted great.

While fixing my coffee and pomegranates another bright idea came to mind-finger painting. Yes! Sounds like a winner. Something I don’t have to give much thought to. I can even close my eyes while swirling the paint across the paper and when finished open them and there lies before me a beautiful surprise (or mess). I choose to believe for a beautiful surprise.

In these times of uncertainty and craziness we need to cast our cares upon the Lord and do something out of the ordinary. Put on some music and do your best to loosen up and welcome freedom. Then create what isn’t in your thoughts. Be free as the birds in the sky without a care. God cares more for you than the carefree flying birds. Trust Him to do all He said He would do for you in His love letter to you-His Word.

If you don’t have a relationship with Him you can ask Him into your heart right now. He’s ready and willing for you to join His family now. There’s plenty room for more. Blessings.

WHAT ABOUT ME

Busy listening

Giving counseling

Drying tears

Encouraging words

Holding hands

Hugging tight

Helping those

Morning, noon and night

Drained to the core

Words-there’s no more

Energy is spent

Body hard hit

Along with the mind

Phone always ringing

Mostly sobbing

No singing

What do you think

What should I do

Never how are you doing

Is life treating you well

Is there anything I can do

Can we talk about you

I’m here for you day or night.

Sitting before the Lord

Reevaluating my life

Not seeing progress

Nor my prayers answered

I cried out from

The depth of my soul

What about me

What about me Lord

What about me

I don’t see what I prayed for

Why no one cares to listen to me

Ask me hard questions

That make me think

Receive a hug I didn’t give

A tissue to wipe away my tears

What about me

What about me Lord

Will it ever be my time?

Trust Me

Today I read the below devotional from Jesus Calling and it seemed appropriate for what has been going on all over the world.

I’m sharing it because there are a lot of people who are afraid. Their worlds have been turned upside down and they don’t know what to do because fear has overtaken them. Their lives as they know it may never be the same-what are they going to do.

Remember nothing happens that God doesn’t know about and what He sees going on He has an answer. Don’t let your heart fail you. Take courage that everything will work out in God.

We are Passing Over out of the old and into the new.

TRUST ME IN EVERY DETAIL OF YOUR LIFE.

Nothing is random in My kingdom. Everything that happens fits into a pattern for good, to those who love Me. Instead of trying to analyze the intricacies of the pattern, focus your energy on trusting Me and thanking Me at all times. Nothing is wasted when you walk close to Me. Even your mistakes and sins can be recycled into something good, through My transforming grace.

While you were still living in darkness, I began to shine the Light of My Presence into your sin-stained life. Finally, I lifted you up out of the mire into My marvelous Light. Having sacrificed My very Life for you, I can be trusted in every facet of your life.

What We See and Know When We Pray

The pandemic situation we are surrounded by has taken my prayer life to a higher dimension than ever before.

On the way to work I was praying for churches and church leaders when all of a sudden I saw mega churches and their leaders (no one in particular) and then heard the following scripture: Luke 12:16-21. The most earthshaking to me was verse 21. “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God”. (NIV) Are the mega churches built for God or the man building them? I’m not saying mega churches are wrong but what is the motive behind them.

Maybe during this time of shutting in we all can reassess our relationship with the Lord and have a willingness to repent and change what he reveals to us so we can be who he created us to be – a fierce army – when this is over.

Our work is not done but in a sense it’s just beginning. There’s a lot of afraid people in the world – saved and unsaved alike that need a reassuring word from God. That’s what God’s army is here to do – to share the truth.

Blessings.

Looking Back Into My Future

Today is my birthday and the first thought that crossed my mind was to give my Good Good Father my appreciation for the life He has given me.

Looking Back Into My Future

Good morning Father

This is the day that you have made

I will rejoice and be glad in it

This is the day July 19 you planned

For my entrance into the earth

At 2:18 am you hit the start button

For me to begin on the journey

Of my purpose and destiny

Sometimes it hasn’t been easy

But you’ve been here for me

To get me back to your path for me

You knew there would be stubborn times

That I would be disobedient

And do my own thing

You’d let me with a watchful eye

You were there to pick me up

Dust me off and love on me

When my stubborn actions

Got me in trouble

To let me know you’ve still got me covered

You’ve been and still are a Good, Good Father

You are true to your word

You never leave me nor forsake me

You take such good care of me

You said I am bound to be blessed

You heap blessings upon me daily

You shower me with gifts and surprises

That turns me into Daddy’s giggly, giddy little girl

I thank and praise you for letting me

End one year and start another with great

Expectations of what you want me to do for you

I do and always will love you

Need you and trust you with

Every beat of my heart

I honor and love you for being my Good Father
